In today’s world a vast majority of the students select a particular career option based on one of the following:
- Advice from Parents
- Advice from some influential relative
- Their own gut feel
- Based on what their friends are going to do
- From a list of Best Careers
- Based on sketchy information about their likes / dislikes
- Based on options they feel will help them make more money
What gets ultimately sacrificed is the fact that each individual is different and there are certain careers where the individual may do far better. Through the Index Profiling mechanism, we at RDC hope to help students to choose a right career for themselves based on their skills, talent, interest and abilities. This will not only help them be successful in the chosen career but also give them lot of job satisfaction.
At the very least we hope to provide Young Adults and their parents or guardians an objective basis to buttress their own assessments and suggestions from an unbiased independent third party scientific tool.
RDC’s Index Profiling will measure student aptitudes and skills on various factors and based on the results the student will be able to choose the careers in which he or she is best likely to succeed.
This test can be taken in a paper-pencil format. The test is meant for students in the 9th and 10th Standard, to help them know the options available to them after their 10th standard. The test takes into
account the fact that a student can decide to pursue a course leading to a formal degree or can pursue a course leading to a vocational certification.
The student will be given his score on various traits as well as a list of careers that are best suited based on these scores. Each student will be given 3 short listed career choices based on his results.
In addition, the test will give a comparison of how the individual stands on these traits, as compared to people who have made successful careers in those areas. We also give the student a list of 5 top colleges in India where he can pursue these options.
Once the student completes the test which is of 90 minutes duration the student will be given a personalised computer generated report. The student has an option of meeting RDC counselor for suggestions.
