Need and importance of the proposal

The challenge of Cyber Security is ever increasing and the Government of India has set in motion a five year project to revamp the entire cyber security apparatus of critical sectors in India. In the past one year, India has suffered 13,000 cyber incidents. The responsibility of strengthening the cyber security in critical sectors has been vested with the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre( NCIIPC), New Delhi and this has been the nodal agency to coordinate the cyber security apparatus of power, transportation, water, Telecommunication and defence.
